Ringing in a new year can bring many joys: families welcome babies, couples celebrate with a kiss, resolutions are made hoping to solidify a pact that this year will be better in one way or another. The beginning of a new year is a breath of fresh air after the hustle and bustle of the holidays. Except I would like to propose a resolution that you may consider actually following through with this year. Let’s all join together and resolve to have adequate coverage on our belongings!
Don’t roll your eyes! I’m serious. Have you ever thought to seriously reassess your insurance coverage after the holidays? Of course not! You’re exhausted from the travel, and the cooking, and the constant barrage of social interaction. Trust me, I understand. The last thing you want to do is think about insurance coverage, but you should. There is a good chance that you’ve added some items that are not covered under your policy. There is also a good chance that they can break or be stolen at some point before you get coverage if you don’t do it early on. The holidays are a high crime time because people are receiving packages left and right and leaving presents in their cars, but just after the holidays when everyone has received those shiny new phones, laptops, headphones, etc. they’re even more so a target. Now even though, you have already resolved to lose some weight, or save some money, or become a rock star, let’s add one more tiny resolution to re-evaluate your coverage and see to it that your belongings are covered properly. This way when the next New Year rolls around you can proudly say you at least stuck to one resolution.
