One of my favorite things about the holiday season is the baking and treats that come along with it. Being 8 months pregnant this holiday season makes my urge for sweet treats even stronger, so I want to share some of my favorite things to make during the Christmas season. My daughter loves to pretend to cook and has her own apron, so this year I am going to let her step into the kitchen with me so we can start making these memories together. The things that I will be making are delicious, and something that little hands can help with because they are messy anyway!
–Peanut Butter Bon Bons: These are my husband’s favorite Christmas snack. I use creamy peanut butter instead of crunchy, but this recipe is easy and makes a lot!
–Oreo Balls: These take a little bit more effort, and are a little bit messier since you have to crush up the Oreos. Oreo balls have a lot of flexibility with what you can add in for flavor. I have topped them with crushed candy canes, crushed Oreos, and mini chocolate chips. The variety of things you can do makes this one of my absolute favorites.
–Easy Fudge: I love this recipe because it makes a simple fudge in a short time. I use this as a base, and then I customize it as I would like to. It is easy to add nuts, peanut butter, or toffee depending on how you are feeling that day!
I love this time of year for so many reasons, but the time I get to spend with my family and making things for them brings me so much joy. Do you have favorite holiday recipes you would like to share? Please send them to us so we can try them out too!
