With kids out of school for the summer, it can be hard trying to beat the boredom every day. Public pools, zoos, and movie theaters are fun options, but can get expensive with multiple kids. If you are tired of crowded pools, or are looking to save some money, check out the free activities below!
Kauffman Memorial Garden– Take a walk through the beautiful gardens at Kauffman Memorial Gardens. Lakeside Nature Center– Lakeside Nature Center has fun hiking trails for the family open 9-4pm Tuesday-Saturday. Before you go, remember to pack your lunch and enjoy the picnic pavilions that they have available. They also have special events throughout the summer. Sprint Family Fun Days– Bring your family to the Sprint Family Fun Days at Kansas City Power & Light District every second Saturday of the month! Every Saturday has a different theme, varying from a Pirates Party to the Ultimate Field Day. Admission to these events is free, but some activities will require a $5 wristband. The Roasterie Tour– If you are a coffee lover, you have to stop by The Roasterie and take a tour. You will learn all about their processes and even get to experience a demonstration on their coffee brewing. To top off the tour, you get to sample some of their delicious coffee.
